EMBRACE Initiative Grant Award

Superintendents from around the State that applied for the Educational Efficiencies and Opportunities Grant, a grant designed to help school districts in collaborative efforts, were invited to attend an announcement of the grant winners during a Tuesday, April 4 grant award presentation in Augusta.

During the announcement, Education Commissioner Bob Hasson explained that a total of 7 grants out of the 21 statewide applicants had been accepted as part of the State of Maine’s EMBRACE initiative: Enabling Maine students to Benefit from Regional And Coordinated approaches to Education.  One of the lucky winners was the “Right-Sizing Upper St. John Valley” project that has been submitted in February as a cooperative effort by MSAD33, MSAD27, and the Madawaska School Department.

Note: The letter is addressed to Superintendent Sirois of MSAD27 because they are the fiscal agents of the grant funds; however the grant is for all districts involved.
